By now, you are aware that we have been emphasizing our role as “stewards” before God, our Creator and our Redeemer.  As God’s renewed image, He calls us to consider what it means for us to live based upon gratitude for all He has done and will do for us.  In fact, our response in faith to follow Him signifies to all that He makes His claim upon our lives.   It also notes our desire to grow in our relationship to God and who He has called us to be.

Entrusted by God with responsibility to “invest” ourselves for the sake of His kingdom, we find ourselves with many choices of becoming engaged with “mission of God” in this world.  One of the primary avenues for joining God’s mission continues to be our  participation in the ministries to which God has called Center Presbyterian Church.

Often, by His grace, God calls us to step back, re-evaluate our lives, and once more commit ourselves to Him.  He calls us again and again to “seek first His kingdom.”  On Sunday, November 4, we will be taking the opportunity to consecrate ourselves to the Lord as “living sacrifices” offered to Him.  As part of our worship experience, you will be invited to express that commitment through the use of a pledge card.  Everyone will be encouraged to bring his/her card forward at the conclusion of the service.  If you are uncomfortable with that visible expression, you can always just return your card to the office at a convenient time.

The use of the card serves as a tangible way for us to give public testimony to our desire to serve the Lord at Center Presbyterian Church.  Whether in the willingness to give in ministry or in the provision of financial resources, both elements represent our desire to consecrate ourselves to our gracious God.  We would ask that you prayerfully consider both parts of your act of grateful service and how God might be leading you. If you have misplaced your card, we have included another one for your convenience.

At the conclusion of each service(8:30 and 11:00), there will be a special celebration of our acts of commitment.  Following the 8:30 service, there will be special refreshments.  Following the 11:00 service, there will be a luncheon that will be provided.   This celebration will be a great time of fellowship in our renewed covenant together.  If you will be unable to attend on November 4th,  we would ask that return your card by placing it in the offering plate on any Sunday or dropping it by the office.

Sincerely in Christ,
