Center Presbyterian Church is blessed to be able to provide not only financial support for mission work locally and internationally, but also to jump in with a hands-on approach as well.

In response to God’s grace and Christ’s teachings, the Mission Committee
of Center Presbyterian Church seeks to serve needs in our own community and the world.
Our committee’s focus will be to seek opportunities to serve the spiritual and physical needs of the poor and needy through prayer, financial gifts, and service.

CPC enacts its missions in four ways: Mission in Action, Mission in Giving, Mission in Education, and Mission in Advocacy. Here’s a description of each.
- Mission in Action (MIA) – Center Presbyterian Church works with multiple mission partners [hyperlink “mission partners” to our mission partner tab], providing service to those in need. If you like hands-on service and proclaiming the gospel in deeds, MIA is for you.
- Mission in Giving (MIG) – Center Presbyterian Church works hard to be generous with those mission partners who are clearly enacting the Kingdom of God in our midst. In addition to supporting them with our time and efforts, we delight in financially supporting these groups as well. Our MIGs regularly contributes over $10,000 to local, national, and international organizations… and we have a lot of fun doing it too! We delight in crafting opportunities to give that are also a good time for church fellowship.
- Mission in Education (MIE) – Center Presbyterian Church is working to become more aware of societal injustices and the ways these injustices harm the bodies and souls of God’s children. Becoming missionally educated means growing from serving and giving to those who are hungry (for example) and learning about the cultural factors that produce their hunger in the first place. In so doing, we worship our God in mind and body.
- Mission in Advocacy (MIAd) – Once we are aware of the societal and cultural factors that produce injustice, we seek to advocate on behalf of those who are negatively impacted. This advocacy can be political in nature (as often we have to advocate to our elected representatives in the hopes that they will remember the plight of their neediest constituencies), but Center Presbyterian Church does not choose political sides. Ours is a politically diverse community that is united in Jesus Christ’s mission to care for “the alien, the orphan, and the widow.” And one of the great blessings of living in a society where every citizen is granted a voice is the privilege and responsibility to use our voices for those most in need.
