Small groups enable us to tailor experiences.
- Bible Studies led by the Pastor and/or Director of Christian Education provide varying levels of study. Book discussion groups led by the Director of Christian Education, often in conjunction with the Pastor, focus on contemporary literature.
Two Presbyterian Women circles offer women an opportunity for Bible study and discussions, mission activity, fellowship, and of course some kind of food. The Mary Martha circle meets at the church in the Gathering Place on the first Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Pack a sandwich and come join them. The Rachel circle meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at a member's home. All women are welcome at either or both circle groups.
CPC's Book Club is ready to go for October. We are reading The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis. This book is a fictional account of a correspondence between an older demon and his younger charge. Throughout their letters we find the many ways that evil moves and works in our world, as well as the Christian virtues that keep temptations at bay. While it sounds dark, this book has moments of light and laughter throughout and is remarkably introspective and thoughtful, while remaining accessible for adult readers. If you are interested in joining the book club, email Pastor Jeff and let him. He'll give you a book and add you to the e-mail list we'll use to settle the day and time of our gathering.
